Jakarta – Presidential candidate number 2, Prabowo Subianto, said, in principle, the victory achieved must not hurt others.
Prabowo said this when he was a guest star on Deddy Corbuzier’s podcast, which aired on the YouTube channel @Deddy Corbuzier, on Tuesday (13/2).
Prabowo then quoted a Javanese philosophy, ‘Menang tanpo ngasorake’. That is, ‘Winning without demeaning’.
He said this because, according to him, there are still many people who do not care about others, in order to achieve victory/success.
“Sometimes, the western philosophy is somewhat different. Because what I see, the western philosophy is that the important thing is success. It doesn’t matter how you win, as long as you win,” said Prabowo.
“In order to win for us, our side, ourselves, our families, (sometimes) we hurt many people. There is a Javanese philosophy, ‘Menang tanpo ngasorake’. ‘Winning without demeaning (hurting)’. That is what we must hold on to,” he stressed.
Prabowo added, with this principle, we will live without resentment towards others. This life, he said, must have principles as embraced by the warriors and knights. They live by holding firmly to the values of honesty, justice, and commitment to help the weak and oppressed parties.
“If in the philosophy of the warriors, my teachers taught (me) not to have grudges. A warrior is brave. Brave to defend the truth, justice, honesty,” he said.
“Defending the weak, the poor, and the oppressed. That’s a knight. To defend, one must be brave, but must not hate and must not hold grudges,” concluded Prabowo. (SENOPATI)
