Wamenkumham Edward Omar Sharif Hiariej alias Eddy Hiariej has sent a resignation letter to the Ministry of State Secretariat. Member of Commission III of the PKS Faction, Nasir Djamil, has asked President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to immediately respond to the submission letter.
“This is cool and gentlemanly. It is only appropriate for Wamen Eddy to do that. We hope that President Jokowi will immediately respond to Wamen Eddy’s resignation letter so that during the pre-trial, his status as a suspect by the KPK will not be overshadowed by his position as Wamenkumham,” Nasir said to reporters on Wednesday (6/13/2023).
Nasir suggested that the position of Wamenkumham should be left vacant. He believes that if not, it should be filled by Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the Gerindra Faction, Habiburokhman.
“I suggest that the position of Wamenkumham should be left vacant because it is not effective and efficient. Likewise, if the President wants to fill the vacancy, Habiburokhman from the Gerindra Faction is suitable for that position,” he said.
Previously, the Coordinator of the President’s Special Staff, Ari Dwipayana, revealed that Wamenkumham Edward Omar Sharif Hiariej alias Eddy Hiariej has sent a resignation letter to the Ministry of State Secretariat. The resignation letter is addressed to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
“So there is a resignation letter from Mr. Wamenkumham to the President that will be submitted to the President,” Ari told reporters at the State Secretariat building, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (6/12).
Ari said the resignation letter was received by the State Secretariat last Monday. However, he did not mention the exact date.
“If I’m not mistaken, it arrived last Monday,” he said.
Ari also did not know the contents of the resignation letter. He emphasized that the letter will be submitted after Jokowi returns to Jakarta.
“I haven’t seen the letter, but it is addressed to the President and will be submitted as soon as the President returns to Jakarta,” he said.
