President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, embarked on a journey to Bandung, West Java, on Wednesday evening via the Whoosh high-speed train, accompanied by members of the public from Halim Station in Jakarta. Dressed in a cream-colored attire, including a matching jacket and a navy blue cap, Prabowo seamlessly blended in with fellow passengers as he scanned his boarding card at the ticket gate and ascended the escalator to the platform. His unexpected presence elicited surprise and excitement among commuters, with Prabowo waving to onlookers and warmly interacting with the crowd as he made his way to the platform. Before boarding the train, he graciously posed for photos with the Whoosh crew. The high-speed train departed promptly at 8:00 p.m. for Tegalluar Station in Bandung.
President Prabowo is slated to inaugurate the 2025 Indonesian Convention on Science, Technology, and Industry (KSTI) at the Sasana Budaya Ganesa (Sabuga), Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), from August 7 to 9. He will deliver the keynote address at the convention, alongside Nobel Laureate Konstantin Novoselov and Minister of Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto. Under the theme “Economic Growth and Equity Through Mastery of Science and Technology,” KSTI 2025 aims to establish itself as a significant strategic forum at both the national and international levels.
