Transformative stories were shared in Serdang Bedagai on July 30, 2025, as emotions ran high during an event where Aslina expressed her gratitude for a life-changing program. As a member of the Nutritional Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) in Cempedak Lobang, Sei Rampah, located conveniently close to her home, Aslina stood alongside regional leaders Hasan Nasbi and North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution to thank the President for the positive impact on her daily life.
Before participating in the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program, Aslina was a stay-at-home mother without a source of income while her husband earned limited wages as a laborer. Now, she plays a vital role in preparing healthy meals for school children in her community, bringing a new sense of hope to her life. Another participant, Normawati, also shared how the opportunity to earn extra income close to home has been crucial in supporting her family, especially her children who benefit from the MBG program’s nutritious meals.
The impact of the program goes beyond just housewives, as shown in the story of 21-year-old Shinta Ramadana. Previously unemployed, Shinta now works with enthusiasm in food preparation, embodying the empowering spirit of the MBG Program. These women are just a few examples of the many individuals nationwide who have found employment and renewed hope through this initiative, as reported by the National Nutrition Agency.
The MBG Program signifies empowerment and transformation, turning kitchens into spaces of hope where individuals like Aslina, Norma, and Shinta have discovered opportunities for meaningful work and personal growth.
