President Prabowo Subianto is dedicated to improving the lives of the underprivileged by implementing various flagship programs aimed at not only addressing immediate needs but also creating opportunities for future generations to overcome poverty. During a discussion titled “Accelerating the Success of President Prabowo’s Programs,” Deputy Minister of Social Affairs Agus Jabo Priyono highlighted initiatives such as Sekolah Rakyat, Kopdes Merah Putih, and MBG. These programs are designed to disrupt the cycle of intergenerational poverty and provide free nutritious meals to those in need.
The focus of President Prabowo’s administration is to eradicate poverty, with ambitious goals to eliminate extreme poverty by 2026 and reduce the overall national poverty rate to below 5 percent by 2029. To achieve this, the government will implement a combination of social intervention and community empowerment programs. The People’s School initiative, Red-and-White Village Cooperatives, and Free Health Checks in Schools are part of the administration’s three-pronged strategy to combat poverty.
The health-focused initiative, CKG, aims to provide free health checks to millions of Indonesians, particularly schoolgirls, in order to improve overall well-being. Additionally, the Red-and-White Village Cooperatives are aimed at stimulating local economies and creating job opportunities to empower both rural and urban communities. President Prabowo is set to launch the Kopdes Merah Putih program to establish cooperatives nationwide, promoting self-sufficiency and community empowerment.
These initiatives reflect President Prabowo’s commitment to empowering the underprivileged and breaking the cycle of poverty in Indonesia. By prioritizing education, community empowerment, and social interventions, the government aims to uplift those living in poverty and create a more sustainable future for all Indonesians.
