Playoff Indonesian Basketball League (IBL) 2025 is set to begin soon after all matches in week 20 or the last week of the regular season are completed. The determination phase for the IBL champion this season is scheduled to take place from June 28 to August 2, 2025.
IBL 2025 playoffs will commence with the quarterfinals or the top 8 teams from the final standings of the regular season. The matchups in this round are determined based on the seed rankings, with the top-ranked team facing the eighth-ranked team, the second-ranked team against the seventh-ranked team, the third-ranked team versus the sixth-ranked team, and the fourth-ranked team against the fifth-ranked team.
Following the same format as the previous season, all playoff matches will be played using the best of three systems, meaning the team that wins two matches first will advance to the next round. In this format, the team with the higher ranking will have the advantage of playing at home in the deciding match if the score is tied 1-1 after the second game.
The complete schedule for the playoffs consists of the quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals, all to be held from June 28 to August 2, 2025. The match locations will follow a home-and-away system considering the seed advantages of each team.
Leading up to the end of the regular season, intense competition is happening at the top of the standings. Pelita Jaya Basketball Jakarta is in the spotlight as they still have three matches left in week 20. This gives a great opportunity for Justin Tatum’s team to claim the top spot from Dewa United Banten, who currently lead with 46 points from 25 games.
Pelita Jaya, currently in fourth place with 43 points from 23 matches, could potentially earn up to six additional points if they win all remaining matches. The deciding match for the regular-season champion will take place this weekend when Pelita Jaya faces Dewa United. If Pelita Jaya wins the first two matches and loses to Dewa United, then the top spot will be determined by the goal difference from their two meetings this season.
The teams that have advanced to the playoffs of IBL Gopay 2025 are Dewa United Banten, RANS Simba Bogor, Satria Muda Pertamina Jakarta, Pelita Jaya Jakarta, Kesatria Bengawan Solo, Hangtuah Jakarta, Prawira Bandung, and Tangerang Hawks.
