Allocate Rp 2.34 trillion for Muslim Community, For What Purpose?

Budgeting Rp 2.34 T for Muslims, What For? | Garuda News 24 Jakarta – The British government has allocated a budget of 117 million pounds or equivalent to US$ 105 million or around Rp 2.34 trillion (at a rate of Rp 15,600). This fund is used to protect the Muslim community amidst the increasing Islamophobia and to prevent extremism. According to Independent UK, on Monday (11/3/2024) this fund comes from tax revenues of the British public. The plan is to use this fund to protect Muslim facilities in the country, such as mosques, Muslim schools, and community centers for the next four years. Home Secretary James Cleverly said the fund would be used for installing CCTV cameras, alarms, and fences for Muslims. Therefore, Muslims living in the UK can feel secure. “Anti-Muslim hatred has no place in our society at all. We will not allow events in the Middle East to be used as an excuse to justify violence against British Muslims,” said Cleverly. In addition to Muslims, racist attacks also occur against Jews. The government condemns these racist acts and has instructed the police to investigate all racial crimes. It also asks the police to collaborate with the prosecutors to bring the perpetrators to justice. Cleverly emphasized that hatred towards Muslims has no place to act in his country. He explained that the funding is part of the government’s support to ensure that all forms of violence and threats against Muslims will not be tolerated. “The Prime Minister has clearly stated that we support the Muslim community in the UK. That’s why we are committed to this funding,” he said. (fdl/fdl) No results See all results © 2023 Garuda News 24. All rights reserved. This website uses cookies.
